The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cagayan once again takes pride in honoring the remarkable achievements of young Cagayano students who have brought distinction to the province through their outstanding performance in international academic competitions.

Among those recognized were:

– Mr. Joshua Pasion of Lal-lo National High School, for his outstanding success in securing Bronze Medals in both the International Science Olympiad Competition and the International Mathematics Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (ISMO-SEA);

– Mr. John Carlo G. Mayormita, also of Lal-lo National High School, for winning a Bronze Medal in the International Science Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (ISO-SEA);

– Ms. Angelica Mae F. Berenguel, likewise from Lal-lo National High School, for earning a Silver Medal in the International Science Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (ISO-SEA); and

– Mr. Liam Carl S. Orpilla of Northern Philippines Academy, Gattaran, Cagayan, for capturing a Bronze Medal in the National Round 2 of the International Mathematics Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (IMOCSEA).

They will all represent the Philippines in the International Round of their respective competitions to be held in Osaka, Japan, from December 19 to 22, 2025.

These commendations were sponsored by Board Members Hon. Rowena G. Retoma, Hon. Kamilly Ponce-Perez, and Hon. Jirowell Alameda, in recognition of the students’ exceptional accomplishments and the honor they have brought to the Province of Cagayan.

Their exemplary achievements reflect the intellectual excellence, perseverance, and global competitiveness of the Cagayan youth. These young achievers serve as an inspiration to fellow students to continue striving for excellence in science, mathematics, and other academic fields.

Through these commendations, the Provincial Government of Cagayan reaffirms its unwavering support for education and youth development, celebrating the success of young Cagayanos who continue to excel and bring recognition to the province on the international stage.
