The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cagayan proudly recognized the exceptional achievements of students from Shining Light Academy- Sanchez Mira, who garnered multiple awards at the ASIAROPE International Journalism Conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from August 30 to September 2, 2025.

The SLA delegates achieved outstanding success, winning two (2) Diamond Medals, seven (7) Gold Medals, and three (3) Silver Medals, and earning trophies as top scorers in various categories- an achievement that reflects their extraordinary competence, preparation, and dedication.

During the flag raising ceremony Governor Edgar “Manong Egay” Aglipay, Provincial Administrator Atty. Charo Mamba-Villaflor, Chief of Staff Felipe H. Buena, and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan personally awarded the Plaques of Commendation to the students, together with the school head Bishop Joseph Samuel, in recognition of their excellence and the honor they brought to the Province of Cagayan.

The commendation was made possible through Resolutions principally sponsored by Board Members Hon. Rey Jirowell D. Alameda, Hon. Alniñoson Kevin M. Timbas, and Hon. Vilmer V. Viloria.
