The members of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) unanimously approved Provincial Ordinance No. 2023-11-003, entitled: “An Ordinance Fixing the Rental Rates of the Commercial Stalls at Cagayan Sports Complex” during its 45th Regular Session on June 7, 2023 held at the SP Session Hall, Capitol Hills, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Honorable Romeo S. Garcia, Board Member, 1st Congressional District of the Province, is the sponsor of the ordinance. The passage of the ordinance intends to set the standard rental rates in order to facilitate the imposition of applicable fees and taxes. As stated in the ordinance, the collection of rent is an exercise of the proprietary power of the Provincial Government which aims to increase its revenue to be utilized for the delivery of basic services as well as for the implementation of its various programs, projects and activities (PPAs) for the benefit of the Cagayano constituents.

Under this ordinance, commercial stalls shall be leased on a monthly basis at fixed rates base on the projected sales of the stall’s location as well as the potential lessee’s cost or income. Stalls located in non-prime areas shall have a monthly rental of Eight Thousand Pesos (P8,000.00) while stalls located in prime areas is Ten Thousand Pesos (P10,000.00).

The Cagayan Sports Complex is owned and managed by the Provincial Government and it is located at Bagay Rd., Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. It boasts of its wide, well-maintained and clean sports facilities as well as high-quality sports equipment, and so, sports enthusiasts frequently visit the place to engage in their sporting activities.

Situated close to schools and universities, the Cagayan Sports Complex has forty-five (45) commercial stalls ready for leasing.
