The Sangguniang Panlalawigan and Vice Governor’s Office (SP-VGO) held a highly productive two-day Budget Forum and Planning Workshop for Calendar Year 2025, gathering selected employees to engage in strategic financial planning and collaborative decision-making. The event was graced by the presence of Board Members Hon. Rodrigo De Asis, Hon. Romeo Garcia, and Hon. Kevin Timbas, alongside the dedicated employees of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and Vice Governor’s Office.

Day 1: Strategic Alignment and Financial Review

 The workshop kicked off with an opening address by the Secretary to the Sanggunian Dr. Rosalinda P. Callang who emphasized the critical importance of aligning the budget with the SP-VGO’s strategic goals. The event, held at Enrile, Cagayan, aimed to ensure that the organization’s financial resources are optimally allocated to support its vision, mission and specific objectives for the coming year.

Assistant Secretary Lysander G. Sibal presented the overview of the SP-VGO’s strategic plan for CY 2025, highlighting key priorities and initiatives. This was followed by a detailed review of the current financial status, including past budget performances and future budget proposals. These sessions provided a solid foundation for informed discussions and planning.

Day 2: Collaborative Budget Planning

The second day focused on intensive collaborative activities. Each department presented its budget requirements and strategic initiatives, followed by interactive Q&A sessions to clarify needs and ensure alignment with the overarching goals of the SP-VGO.

 Participants then engaged in breakout sessions, forming cross-functional teams to develop budget proposals. These sessions aimed to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative funding strategies, fostering a spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility among the employees.

With the successful completion of the two-day workshop, the SP-VGO is now well-prepared to submit its budget plan for CY 2025. The insights and strategies developed during the workshop will play a crucial role in guiding the organization’s financial decisions and actions in the coming year.
